Uruguay

We spent a few days in Uruguay to explore Montevideo and relax on the beaches of Punta del Este, a popular vacation destination for South Americans. The city of Montevideo was clean and charming, yet one day was sufficient enough to see the city and of course taste the traditional local food, in this case Chivitos. (very similar to Argentina's lomitos...more meat, more ham, more egg, more bread...South Americans sure love their protein and carbs.) We continued our taste test tradition in Punta del Este with a date on the water over seafood and wine and, of course, met our daily ice cream/gelato quota. (It's necessary given the extreme heat and humidity down here).
