Alpaca Bites

A beautiful day in Peru even though Google weather told us otherwise:

A day in the life of Las Conquistadoras:

1. Nibbled on by an alpaca (the tables turned when we may have eaten one at dinner later)

2. Dodged the spit of a vicuña

3. Tried Frog Soup (you can see the ingredients for yourself here)

Live frogs before their soupy fate:

4. Attempted to chew coca leaves like the locals do to relieve soroche...we just ended up with it all stuck in our teeth.

5. Tried Cuzco's traditional Pisco Sours

All this on just two hours of sleep since 6 am on January 5th.

So far we are loving Cusco...only problem is where we are going to fit souvenirs...including the pants on the right:

  3. Hi! It was actually very mild! It kind of tasted a little fishy. I only had the broth, I didn't eat the frog. And I think the Bull's penis is just for flavoring, I'm not so sure if people actually eat it? It was good to try but I don't think I could eat an entire bowlful! And the alpaca was a little gamey, but it really wasn't too bad. I'd probably eat it again. (The picture above is actually beef we found out, but we had alpaca the following night.)
