Toto, We're Not in Kansas Anymore

We have officially been on the go for 15 hours. Right now we are in the Lima, Peru Airport waiting for our connection to Cusco... which is in 7 hours. When we got through immigration and customs at the Lima airport we went to re-check our bags, and had our first strange encounter. We had a man who bought a nice large bottle of duty-free tequila offer to sell it to us for $15. After we declined - apparently too politely - he proceeded to throw it into our baggage cart. Travelers' Rule #2 already broken: do not accept gifts from strangers. (Don't worry Mom and Dad, we really DID say no). The man in front of us just shrugged and smirked. Apparently no one else saw, or cared. We looked around, half-expecting security to descend upon us. Nope. So we gave it as a gift to the woman at the Lan Airlines Check-in Desk. "Disfrute!" ...We got good seats ;)

Lesson learned: Be more assertive and look less clueless.

And now we are at Starbucks drinking iced tea, preparing for our first all-nighter at the Lima Airport. We thought those ended when we graduated from college.

Looking so refreshed...can't you tell?
Next time we'll have a background a little more scenic than the vent on the Starbucks wall
